What do you think? Yesterday I received a payment of $132 for a site I putted up for sale that was collecting nothing more than dust. It received some SEO traffic, which will explain the $132 sale I guess…
After 12 hours I was happy to have a buyer at a price that was suitable for me. Lets handle the payments!!! Guy sends me the money and guess how much fee paypal took?
$5,45
That is 4.1% fee! Isn’t that way to high? I changed some settings in the past when I was looking to get cheaper paypal fees, after that I have the strange feeling my fees gone up!? Check in your paypal and share how much % fee they take from you. Would appreciate it if you comment it in here so we can compare! My account type is premier if that makes sense.
I don’t want to know how many dollars paypal took from me from 2005 till now, bet I can pay my vacation from it!

Yeah, strange, my fees are a little over 3% usually… :-/
however, I receive $5 payments and paypal takes 10% from those.
Think i’m giving paypal a call this week to get some information about this.
cool… keep us updated.
Just received a pretty big payment and I paid exactly 3.3%… Still a lot, but not much we can do.
Perhaps need to switch to authorize.net for credit card payments…
hehe nice one! yeah, 3.3% isn’t that high after all, but everything added up, will be a big amount, but nothing we can do about it
It really sucks. Ebay and Paypal are under one company. Ebay forces and mandates the Ebay sale payment has to be only ‘Paypal transaction’. Ebay takes ‘insertion fee’ for listing and ‘final sale commission’. Receiving payment, Paypal takes ‘transaction fee’. Therefore when you sold an item, they suck you total approaching 10%.
Someone should do something about it as it is TOO suck. The best way probably is competition. Someone may create more ebay-like companies to compete with. Competitions will form a reasonable and healthy environment.
What are the better ways can you think of?
