As the title says, I decided to get into the travel niche seriously. Currently I have 2 small travel sites running with not much information, but when I pay attentiont to them I am sure they can work and make some good cash on adsense (daily).

The two sites I am working on currently is about Florianopolis Brazil and Limassol Cyprus. My goal is to have 10 of these sites at the end of 2008 with at least 5 posts for each! This is a very reachable goal in my eyes! If I fail, I will give another $10 for the first commenter in my fail post like I did before with not reaching my 20 RSS readers. Today I decided to stop the user registrations on my webmaster forum. This because there are a lot of spammers lately that are cruising around on the web dropping hundreds of spam threads everyday on vBulletin boards! Almost everyday I am losing 15 minutes of time to delete these threads, which is a waste! I am going to wait till the next vBulletin update and than upgrade my forum and open the registrations again. Currently this project is on hold!

For the webmasters reading this, I invite you to submit your link to the web directory added on this webmaster community! Free submission for regular links. The design is not smooth, I know, but soon there will come a new theme for that (also for the forum)

Till now I had 1 featured link added at this directory bringing in a $7 revenue! These featured links will stay forever featured. Once this forum is bigger and more popular the price will go up! So get in quick for cheap is a smart thing to do!

Currently this blog is at 10 RSS subscribers! It broke into the 2 figures, which is not very impressive at first sight, but it is an improvement! Shoban from crackup dot net is the 10th subscriber, thanks for that!

Unfortunately I failed to get 20 subscribers at the end of October, that is why I give away $10 to the first commenter of this post as stated in one of my previous posts! Comment and claim this $10

The earnings of this blog in October were $20 by the banner that is sold for the length of one month! Hope to get more success in November and really break into the 20+ subscribers! I will hold a money contest upcoming week so stay tuned and subscribe to my rss feed!

The words that are used in the links to your website have an effect on the search engine rankings of your website for these keywords. For example, if very many websites use the word “blue widget” to link to your website, it is likely that your website will get a high ranking on Google for the keyword “blue widget”.

How many keywords does Google consider?

It’s absolutely certain that Google considers the words in the links to your site. The question is, how many words or characters does Google count in a link? Is there an optimal length for text links? Blogger Shaun Anderson did a test to find the answer.

The test set-up

Shaun Anderson created a long text link with 50 nonsense words. Each of the nonsense words was 6 characters long. For example, he might have used a link like this:

wergsd woivsd mliwdc woiuby 3245sc plorxc werxcd …

Then he added that link to the home page of a website that has good rankings on Google.

After some time, Shaun did a search for a keyword that the linked website ranked number one for and added the nonsense words to the search. By doing so, Google would only list the site in the search results if links to the site contained the nonsense word.

For example, if a website has a number one ranking for “buy used cars in dallas” then the website will only be returned by Google for “buy used cars in dallas wergsd” if Google has indexed a link with the text “wergsd” that points to the website.

The result: the perfect length seems to be 55 characters

55 limitOut of the 50 words in the link text, Google counted eight. Everything after the eighth word was ignored. Eight words that consist of six characters make 48 characters. The seven spaces between these six words add up to a total of 55 characters.

What does this mean for your website?

You should make sure that the important keywords come in the first 55 characters of the links that point to your website.

As many websites use the title of a web page to link to it, you should also consider the way you write your web page titles. If your important keywords are at the beginning of your web page titles, chances are that these keywords will also be used in the links to your site.

More adsense related sites are created as we speak! The key for these sites is build them for a few months and not give up earlier! After a few months of hard work you will see the money roll in! The only thing you have to do is create a friendly blog with good content and build links for like 2 hours a week, after a few months, you will have a nice money maker on your side!

Today my friend Anand and I also started a little motivational contest. We are going into the same niche at the same time and the one that will be earning the most with that single site on adsense after three months will get a free review + $1

Heck, that $1 dollar will be mine (I hope)! nahh.. kidding.. doesn’t matte who will win, it’s about the motivation we get out of this to make our own site a good earner! Will keep you update about my other adsense sites, and will also share the niche’s I am in and what I do to build links!

Finally, the beginning is here! The first banner spot (125 x 125) has been purchased! This blog is using the very nice OiO publishes plugin so everything is going automatic! I only have to approve the banner and it is on!

The banner is actually for the “Reverse Funnel System”, what the heck it is, I don’t know, but I saw it a lot on other blogs to, maybe it is time to find out what it does exactly! Must be making money for some guys!
