What do you think? Yesterday I received a payment of $132 for a site I putted up for sale that was collecting nothing more than dust. It received some SEO traffic, which will explain the $132 sale I guess…

After 12 hours I was happy to have a buyer at a price that was suitable for me. Lets handle the payments!!! Guy sends me the money and guess how much fee paypal took?

That is 4.1% fee! Isn’t that way to high? I changed some settings in the past when I was looking to get cheaper paypal fees, after that I have the strange feeling my fees gone up!? Check in your paypal and share how much % fee they take from you. Would appreciate it if you comment it in here so we can compare! My account type is premier if that makes sense.

I don’t want to know how many dollars paypal took from me from 2005 till now, bet I can pay my vacation from it!

Six weeks ago I started my first Ecommerce site with a business partner. It was a Xbox Live Subscription site. After six weeks I can conclude it failed. Maybe I expected to much of this, but after all, it was my first attempt in the ecommerce world.

What went wrong?

The site started out with 25 live cards in stock. After 3 weeks they were all sold. But I only received payment for like 10 cards. The other cards were gone without my knowledge. I still don’t know how this happened. But, to keep this story short, this site will not continue selling live cards like the way it did. It does get some search engine traffic so maybe we will put up some other xbox affiliate offers.

I am also starting a new site, called new movie rentals. The plan is to earn money through affiliates to rent movies online. This is a fresh start up, I will blog about it later when it gets some results (in the search engines or revenue wise).

Google uses a so-called robot to surf the Internet. If you want to get high rankings on Google, you must make sure that Google’s robot finds the right information on your website and that the robot writes the right information about your website in Google’s database.

1. Feed the robot: optimize more than one web page

It’s not enough to optimize your home page. You must optimize each page of your website individually. Optimize different pages of your website for different but related keywords so that Google’s robot sees that your website is relevant to the topic. The more pages you optimize the better.

It takes some time to optimize your pages individually for Google but the results are worth the effort. There are no shortcuts to high rankings on Google. If someone promises you a quick solution, be very skeptical.

2. Indulge the robot: optimize the structure of your web page elements

Google’s robot does not see web pages as you can see them in your browser. Google’s robot sees the plain HTML code and it has to get all information from that code.

For that reason, you have to make sure that the HTML code of your pages contains everything in the right places so that Google’s robot can write the right information to Google’s database.

A single web page has many elements that can be read by Google’s robot: The title tag, meta tags, headline tags, links, keywords in the body text, etc. These elements must come in the right order and they must contain your keyword in the right density if you want to get high rankings on Google for that keyword.

3. Guide the robot: optimize the structure of your whole website

In addition to the structure of your web pages, the structure of your whole website influences the rankings of your web pages on Google as well.

A very important aspect is the structure of your website navigation and the internal links. Your website should have easy to follow text links to every page on your website that you want search engines to see.

If your website has a poor design or if it does not link to all pages of your site, then Google’s robot will skip these pages. If you design your website in Flash or if you put most of your web page content in images then Google’s robot won’t be able to read most of your content.

If you make it as easy as possible for Google’s robot to index your web pages then you will get the best possible rankings. Optimizing your web pages takes some work but it will help you to get high rankings on Google, more customers and more sales.

It was definitely time for a new blog design. I feel like this blog is currently a nice beginning to make things really big. I runned several blogs in the past, and still run some, but never had a blog with more than 150 rss readers. I got the feeling that this blog can become one!

In 3 weeks I am finished with my 5 month during internship at a mortgage / insurance company. This internship took most of my time last 4 months which is the reason I didn’t blog much.

At the end of 2008 I found some time to make new business plans for 2009 and setted up some goals I want to achieve! One of the goals is to gain at least 200 rss subscribers in 2009 and make this blog worth reading.

I will mainly blog about news in the seo area and about projects I am working on. I will also reveal strategies how I make money online. Currently I am working on a few newly sites, I started these last month to make a good begin to work with when I am completely finished with my internship.

My newest website purchase is HQ Wallpapers! A site that provides high quality wallpapers.
